Snakeshead Fritillary

The gently swaying pink and white bells of the Snake's Head Fritillary rise up in the meadow in April. I planted a swarm of these little miracles of nature by our front path a couple of years ago - they seem to love it there and I never get tired of looking at the extraordinary snakeskin patterns on their beautiful flowers - how do they do that?! #inthemeadow
