You Are What You Give... with Alice Crone of Audrey's Chocolates
We are delighted to welcome Alice to the Easter edition of our You Are What You Give interview series. In 2024, Alice and her husband William bought Audrey’s Chocolates in Hove, one of Britain's finest heritage chocolate-makers established in 1948. Like Scribble & Daub, theirs is a family-run, East Sussex business, dedicated to preserving artisan skills and creating the finest quality, hand-crafted products.

We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Audrey's, and you will find a selection of their delicious and divinely packaged products here - a perfect present to pair with our unique, hand-crafted cards.
Thanks so much for joining us, Alice. Growing up, what were your family’s Easter traditions?
I come from a very large and loud family, Easter was always filled with lots of chocolate and an egg hunt, and as I have so many brothers, this was also always wildly competitive. It sounds a bit strange, but my dad used to take great pleasure in breaking the heads off chocolate Lindt bunnies…much to my horror! It was the one weekend of the year that we could go for it and eat as much chocolate as we wanted. My grandparents had a farm, and the best Easter we ever had was adopting four lambs for the holidays.
Have you continued these traditions, or created your own?
We have two small children, who love finding eggs around the garden. There is nothing better than the sight of a two year old with a basket full of eggs doddling around. They love un-foiling the eggs as they go.
How do you decorate the house for Spring celebrations, any favourite decorations or easy tricks?
Daffodils mainly, lots and lots of daffodils. My mother-in-law gave us this beautiful white faux tree that my children love decorating, we usually have it on the kitchen table.
This year I want to be more creative; I love the idea of having Easter colour everywhere - tying ribbons around the house and making the table feel abundant and gorgeous.
What are your favourite presents to give and receive at Easter?
Perhaps unsurprisingly, I love the table being decorated with chocolate, all different sizes and colours.
My team last year made my children the most wonderful giant Easter bunny, complete with knapsack, rainbows, hot air balloons - just stunning, and over 1.9kg of chocolate! It was too beautiful to eat.

You can choose anything from the Scribble & Daub Easter collection, what would it be and why?
Definitely the Bunny cards. Hares have been the Audrey’s Easter theme, and rabbits are my mum’s favourite animal, so I always had a strong affiliation with them.
Please share five things you'd like to give, and five to receive this Easter…
To Give:

A Waddle of Ducks from Audrey’s.
Adorable Easter Biscuits from Biscuiteers.
Talking of cuteness overload, these would be wonderful to gift children for their easter egg hunts - Chick basket.

Papier maché Easter egg decorations from The Newt.
To Receive:
100 scented narcissi from Scilly Flowers- one of the most amazing smells, filling the house with scent.
