Boissier Calissons
An exquisite gift box of calissons from heritage Parisian confectioner Maison Boissier.
Eight delicious almond paste candies in a beautifully illustrated jewel box with an angel motif (50g)
The origin of the calisson dates back to 1454, in the city of Aix-en-Provence. During a meal celebrating the wedding of King René with Jeanne de Laval, the court cook is said to have invented this delicious confectionery, a paste made of candied melon and almonds, all topped with royal icing.
Founded in 1827, Maison Boissier's Parisian candy and chocolate shop was one of Victor Hugo’s favourites. Their charming powder boxes and tins make a great keepsake for small treasures long after the last taste of their exquisite treats.
