An astonishingly accurate, life-sized rendering of Britain’s most beloved Easter bun in wax!

Each hot cross bun is finished by hand, complete with delicately hand-painted raisins and the iconic cross marking on its golden top.

Crafted from unscented natural olive wax, these sculptural objects will bring a witty and playful touch to any Easter table.

Hot cross buns were first recorded in England in the 12th century - legend has it that a particularly pious monk marked his bakes with a cross in honour of Good Friday. Over time, they became steeped in symbolism: the cross representing the crucifixion, the spices symbolising those used to embalm Christ, and the sharing of these sweet treats said to bring friendship and good fortune - making these a brilliantly unusual and sure to please Easter gift.

Each bun measures approximately 6 x 8 x 8 cm and weighs 179g.

Just like Scribble & Daub’s paper goods, these artisan candles are hand-crafted from natural olive wax, hand-poured with love and care in small batches in East Sussex, England. Made to the highest environmental standards using eco dyes and an organic cotton wick, all are Vegan friendly.

Candles are fragile by nature, and they will be packed and sent to you with the utmost attention. Please remember that natural wax is a soft and delicate material, so some imperfections may be present on the surface. Natural waxes will 'bloom', this is a normal reaction to the environment which means the candle may appear 'dusty'. This is very easy to remove with a warm hand or quick blast with a hairdryer.

Important notes on candle safety:

- NEVER leave a burning candle unattended.
- Always put candles on a heat resistant surface
- Keep burning candles away from things that can catch fire (e.g. curtains, other fabrics, furniture, hair). Keep candles out of draughts. Do not put underneath shelves (there should be at least one meter between a candle and any surface above it).
- Candles should be kept out of reach of children and pets - consider where you place them in your home carefully.
- Make sure to leave at least 10cm between two burning candles - candles like to 'jump' between each other.
- Trim your wick when needed to maintain a height of 0.5cm.
- Keep the wax pool clear of matches and debris to prevent reignition.
- Extinguish candles before moving them. Make sure candles are completely extinguished.
- CANDLES ARE NOT FOOD, NOT TOYS AND SHOULD NEVER BE EATEN.
